What about my dog?
If you choose to have your dog become a therapy dog, everyone wins. Because not only do you and the people you and your dog visit greatly benefit, your dog also comes out a big winner.
If your dog is a true "people" dog, then she probably loves giving out unconditional love in the form of kisses and receiving coos and pats...to just about anyone she meets. So giving her the opportunity to do this on a regular basis, for a good cause, is good for her too!
Your dog can really look forward to her therapy visits. When it's time to go, you can give her a verbal or physical cue and she'll know exactly what to expect. Eventually she'll grow to eagerly anticipate the visits, along with the special "me" time with her owner in the package.

About Daisy: Daisy adopted me and my husband back in 2000 while I was volunteering at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. I had found a dog that I wanted to adopt, but when my husband arrived at the shelter, Daisy made it known that SHE would be the one we took home that day. She has been making people happy with her big brown eyes and sweet "please pet me" expression ever since.
