About Mr. Spot:
Mr. Spot is a rescue dog from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. I adopted him in April 1999 and everyone guessed that he was about 6 months old at the time, so we celebrate July, 1998 as his birthday. Mr. Spot was extremely, severly, and almost pathologically shy and timid. Several people suggested that I take him to obedience class and that was the beginning of our long road to therapy certification. Now Mr. Spot is an outgoing, people loving, and pet friendly part of a PAWS therapy team. He could be the poster child for the many reasons to adopt a shelter dog.
Places we visit:
West Ouachita library on Cheniere Drew Rd, nursing homes, schools, church groups, civic organizations.
Mr. Spot's favorite visits:
Any place where people pet him and tell him how handsome he is.
All of our PAWS Therapy teams consist of local volunteers and their personal pets. All animals have undergone strict personality screening, obedience training, and are certified by Therapy Dogs International or Delta Society. To become a PAWS Therapy team, it is a requirement your animal be certified by one of the national pet therapy organizations. Contact us today! We'll help you get certified so you can brighten lives with your companion animal.
